Anyone is capable of doing art, but no one can make art if they can't feel something important to express. It has to be something you love to do rather then a chore or an idle time waster.

nhaaa anyone can be an artist, just need to take the time to be one, beeing and artist its not just specify in one thing, mm example like a comic artist, its not a full artist until he domines pencil, ink, and some color techiques, weell thats my thinking if they dont domine all 3 theyr no artist, theyr just good but not artists hehe its all about practice, and anyone can do it ...riiight?

I voted on the second, but would also like to add that if you don't have the passion for creating art, you won't get as far on the learning bit.

You can be born with talent, but I feel like you have to be taught in one way or another to learn how to fine tune your talents, passion and ideas. Does that make sense?

I have taught art. Not everyone has the ability to create superb art, however art isn't about how wel you can draw something. It's about expressing yourself in some form of media. That's why all children draw. They have a lot to express and a limited means to express themselves verbally or written.

This was a tough one, I feel artistic talent is in EVERYONE.. but there are only certain people ("artists") who can manifest this gift on their own. YET.. if you have the gift and dont use it, its like a muscle that will atrophy. It is something that MUST be lived and Must be NUTURED, (taught) in order to truly reach its peek.

Alright I'm going to go back to my old standby "Art is the Physical representaion of the Emotional" I don't think anyone and everybody can be an exceptional artist, because even after one learns how to technically do things correctly that's just a launchpad for the rest of what being an exceptional artist is about. That one point not withstanding, I think it's a combination of all three. Ultimately, what is in an artist is an ucanny nack for clearly turning an emotion into something tangible that can be immediately understood by most if not all people.

True fact; anyone can do art. False fact; anyone can be an artist. An artist is one who actually takes that role, that title of the ARTIST. Not everyone can deal with being the only creative person they know, or not being understood by their peers.
